Immigration Crackdownstarting to have an effect?

Can it really be true? We can only hope so and keep our fingers crossed. We hear that one man admitted that he quit his job at a Dallas window screen factory after hearing rumors that he would have to produce a valid Social Security number. Oh my imagine that, having to produce a VALID Social Security number, not one that was stolen from a legal US citizen.
Others say that laws were never so tough, that in the past there were no consequences for entering the U.S. illegally and those caught were simply returned south. Word has spread quickly that now they lock you up, according to several illegal border crossers who say they can’t find work because no one wants to hire somebody without papers.

Like the vast majority of Americans, close to 80% now, most of us can hardly wait to see the last of George Bush and his corrupt nasty regime. After 2 terms of Bush, indisputably the worst and most venal leader America has ever experienced, there is great opportunity for real change.

Hillary Clinton is way out in front but The Brass Monkey’s view on her is very negative. There are two reasons for this, 1 she is for amnesty for illegal alien criminals and 2 it was during her husbands regime that NAFTA got the big push. Nafta ( North American Free Trade Agreement) was a disaster for the US as all of the other trade agreements that have followed it have been.
However focusing on the immigration issue only here, we have added 2 links on our main site The Brass Monkey Home Page regarding immigration, one is a link that shows where the presidential canditates stand on immigration issues and the other lets you send a quick fax to your congress-person stating your views on immigration. They are easy to find.
Both Democratic front-runners upset that Dream Act failed passage

Senators Hillary Clinton Dem. New York and Senator Barack Obama Dem. Illinois are upset that the so called Dream Act (Amnesty for illegal alien lawbreakers)failed to pass the Senate recently.
It seems that the Democrats just do not get it folks, most citizens of the US do not want amnesty for illegal aliens, but the Demo-Bushs keep right on trying to get some form of amnesty bill passed. This tells us one thing for sure, the Demo-Bushs are not for the average American, the folks that elected them, but are for special interest groups and big-business.
As far as the Brass Monkey is concerned this takes them right out of the race for president. We urge everyone to register as Independent. I will give the Republicans the kudos they deserve for voting against the “Dream Act”. Folks used to think that in the past the Republicans were for big-business and the Democrats were for the working men and women. Sadly this is no longer true, both parties are for big-business and special-interest groups now.

Bush says there is no money to help poor folks heat this Winter. Bush vetoes a bill on childrens health care. On the other hand he wants to borrow billions more for the war.
What has happened to America folks, the America that used to take care of it’s own. We used to have thousands of manufacturing jobs. We were the undisputed leader in technology. Now thanks to Bush and congress we are a debter nation. The two party system in Washington is no more. There is only one party it is called big-business. Every free trade agreement that we have become involved in has been a disaster to the US. More American jobs have disappeared with each new trade deal Washington has entered into. The Bottom line is there would be alot less poor folks in America if we still made anything here.
Please vote in our poll. Do you think President Bush has sold out our country? The poll is down the page on the left that will open in a new window when you click on the link.
