I happen to catch the Face Off segment of the Lou Dobbs show today. The gist of it was Al Sharpton saying that Sheriff Joe’s department was using racial profiling when looking for illegal aliens.

Okay I am not going to get into what was said and what was not said in the segment but to put forth my simple views on the subject.

You look for illegal aliens in Hispanic areas. They are not likely found in upper class white neighborhoods unless they are working there. You do not pull over fair skinned red heads or blonds, because it is not likely that folks from Canada are here illegally.

It is not racial profiling because it just makes sense that if illegal aliens look like Hispanics those are the people you pull over and question. Ok here is a sort of analogy on this. A bank is robbed and the witnesses pretty much all say that 3 midget women did the dastardly deed. Well it stands to reason that you would not be paying much attention to men 6 feet tall.
