Billions To Brazil
When Obama was in his South American tour one of his stops was in Brazil where he pledged several Billion dollars to help that country develop off shore oil drilling. This is hard cash that basically we do not have.
What makes this more confusing is the fact that Brazil for the most part runs all of there cars and trucks on Sugar. Brazil has huge farming lands suitable for Sugar production and they have taken advantage of that fact ever since the 1970´s.
Remember the Arab oil embargo back then? Here In the USA there was all kinds of rationing and high prices. We managed to muddle through but Brazil was almost brought to it´s knees. Unlike us Brazil said never again would they be dependent on foreign oil! We on the other hand just went right on down the same old path, the path that if anything goes wrong in the middle east we will be screwed. It is time for a change.
Just think what we could accomplish if that 3 or 4 Billion went to us to help in the development of our own offshore facilities.
The problem with the United States is that no one wants it in there own backyard. California is a prime example, they want all the power but no power plants. They say put them in Arizona or anywhere but in California. We want the power but let someone else get all the pollution etc. This attitude has to change to more like is you want to use it you get what might be considered the bad with it.
That money could help us out a lot more then a country that has pretty much eliminated the need for gas for all of it´s cars.
