Deportations Part of U.S. History

0

The OP-ED column “Arizona Law is Un-American” by Sen. Eric Griego lacks facts and logic. This man was either absent or slept through history in school.

Three times in modern history we have deported illegal immigrants:

  1. President Herbert Hoover, during the Great Depression, ordered the deportation of all illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.
  2. President Harry Truman deported over 2 million illegal immigrants after World War II to create jobs for returning veterans.
  3. President Dwight Eisenhower in 1954 deported 1 million Mexican nationals! The program was called “Operation Wetback.” It was done so WWII and Korean War veterans would have a better chance at finding a job. It took two years, but he deported them.

Either there is a rule of law or there is no law. Illegal immigrants are here illegally. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

If you take the time to read the Arizona law and the federal law on immigration, you will see that it is not racial. Mexico´s law on illegal immigrations is an eye opener, and its history of treatment to illegal immigrants on its southern border is brutal.

Enough is enough.

See any correlation between the above and what is going on now? Think about it.
