Economy: Short Term Fixes

0

Economic Short Term Fixes: That’s what you here now in one form or another from almost every presidential candidate. These “fixes” mostly include tax refunds and or breaks. These are all at the most short term fixes that might put a band aid on the problem if they even help at all.

Okay the average Joe gets a refund check, and a lot of those Joes will run right over to the nearest big-box store, and buy a bunch of cheap crap from China. Where did the money go? Part of it went to fatten the big-box stores wallets and part went to there suppliers and part went to Communist China. Don’t let that Wal-Mart smiley face fool you, he is not your friend. Those cheap prices do not come free, and have a huge price we are all paying. We think it would be much better if the money stayed in the US and stimulated job growth. At the most the smart average American might be able to get threw the rest of the Winter’s heating bills.

It does not sound like a good plan to me. If we had a debtors prison the US government and a lot of citizens would have been incarcerated a long time ago.

Bush is also pushing more free trade agreements that would further hurt the economy because we would be sending more money and jobs to other countries just as all of the past free trade deals did. The ONLY beneficiaries of these deals are big un-patriotic corporations and foreign countries.

The government has to reign it in and US consumers have to reign spending in and if at all possible, buy American, so the money stays in this country.
