Flock: The Social Web Browser

by Staff on September 25, 2009

A lot of folks might not have heard of Flock and have no idea it exists and has been into ver 2 for quite a little while now. There is more out there then IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari folks!

Flock MainIf you live on the web Flock is for you. This browser is the ultimate access point to as many web services as possible, thus making the browser very appealing to anyone using more than one social media service or social network. Besides supporting text based RSS feeds as all of the popular browsers do except at this time Chrome which doesn’t, it also supports media RSS feeds. WoW This type of feed is similar to usual text-based RSS feeds but they syndicate rich content like photos or videos from the supporting websites such as You Tube, Flickr and many more. Flock automatically detects such feeds when they are available and offers you to subscribe so that you could get the new photos and videos immediately when they are published. (See media bar pic at bottom of post.)

Flock is integrated with 23 social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and Digg giving you easy access. You just log in and let Flock do the rest. To some Flock might appear overwhelming because of all of the features but if you hang in there we think you will like it especially if you spend tons of time on the web and are a social networking dynamo. Enjoy!

If you really want to interact with all kinds of folks you have got to check out the Me. dium plug-in for Flock. Here is a description of it straight from the add on page…. Me.dium reveals the hidden world of people and activity behind your Flock browser. With Me.dium you and your friends can see each other moving around the internet. You can surf the web together, for the first time, in real-time. You can also meet new people interested in the same stuff as you – even ask them questions and start discussions. And you’ll discover new websites based on the activity of other Me.dium users with the same interests as you.
