Some might say, who? To the ones that forget easily, he is the no nonsense person that headed the active duty military contingent that went to New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina and created order out of chaos.General Honoré had to navigate a fine line between necessary leadership and the specter of federal troops using force against American citizens. We think he did a first rate job of walking that line.

A SurveyUSA poll of 1,200 Americans voted Lt. General Honoré as the most effective leader of the relief operation, ahead of Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and, at the bottom of the list, Michael Brown, (a Bush hack) director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The Brass Monkey thinks that he would make a great no-nonsense president. Now you think, what’s going on here, right. Ok the General is retiring today! That’s right today, and it get’s better folks, the rumor is out that he might seek public office!

Now is the time for change we here from everybody (the candidates are almost all saying it). What a great idea it would be for a non politician to become president. The timing could not be better for this, and we sincerely hope that the General runs.

In paraphrasing one of the most famous of the Generals one-liners “We’re not stuck on stupid” Let’s make sure that “We’re not stuck on stupid” and if the opportunity arises (he does run) let’s give him a serious listen and if we like what we here some serious support. We most definitely do not need more of the same ole same ole.
