Grease Cars
If you do a lot of driving (not short distance hops) a grease car might be for you. These cars run on vegetable oil but they start and stop on diesel, hence the technology is not optimized or recommended for short distance driving.
Once you car is converted you might spend an extra hour or so a week in “prep” work and you can expect fuel costs of about 25 cents a gallon. For a ton of info go to Grease Car . com. You to can become a “Greaser”.
The best source of vegetable oil is from restaurants deep-fat fryers. They will probably gladly let you take it off of there hands. So in away most of the fuel that you burn is recycled.
