Hard Times Cheap Digs
While browsing forums and BB´s I stumbled across this forum post on the hacking site Defcon…
I know your pain, as someone who has and still does in a few cities live out of a storage unit.
Out of curiosity did you ever spend the night in one? My buddy got me into that a bit, we would take a converter to stick in the light bulb, close the door and had a pretty cozy camp site. Worked in a pinch, as some places its just too expensive to find a hotel on a budget (east coast..).
Paying a few bucks a month and maintaining a stash in key cities was by far the cheapest way to go, and ensured a feeling of living there with my stuff.
The above could apply to anyone in a pinch to make ends meet. I personally used a storage facility many moons ago in Alaska that had rest rooms, for sponge baths. Granted not all storage facilities have rest rooms but I am sure that others besides that one in Alaska do. By the way the one in Alaska was heated, a definite plus in cold climates.
I would also imagine you might have to be sneaky as storage facilities are probably not licensed for living in them.
This years Defcon convention dates are July 30 to August 1 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. For a full list of events and contests check it out here… DEFCON 18 Viva Las Vegas
