There is no longer any doubt folks that illegal immigration (thanks to Dictator Bushs let em all in and give em amnesty policy) has moved to the top tier of issues at least on the Republican side. A good indicator of this is when Bob Latta running in a special election for a suburban Toledo Ohio House district, crafted a message that bashed illegal immigrants who live here, drive here or get government-funded health care. He won by 14 points. Democrats and Republicans alike credit the immigration message for the big margin!

We thought that this would be a major issue back in June and before of this year when Steve Levy the county executive of Suffolk County NY announced plans to crackdown on illegal aliens.Mr. Levys approval rating jumped to 80%, See Hats Off To Steve Levy Post. Plus take a look at this post back in May when Mayor Barletta of Hazelton PA got a landslide victory from both parties on his re-election bid . Both Democratic and Republication Nomination: What’s up with this. John McCain realized also that he had to back off of his pro-amnesty agenda or forget running for President.

The Democrats who are mostly bleeding heart liberals and want amnesty for illegal aliens for the most part do not seem to get it yet. Senator Clinton the Democratic front-runner’s worst moment of the campaign came when she suggested she supported driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants — only to oppose the idea days later amid a nasty backlash.

The Brass Monkey thinks that this is a major issue and the vast majority of voters want the borders secured and a crack-down on illegal aliens and the employers who hire them. Any one running for the highest office in the land that supports amnesty, rights for illegals and or social serrvices for illegals, in our opinion will not get elected.
