This is a announcement about the video section of The Brass Monkey Blog . Net.

From this time forward most of the posts in the video section will be music from the turmoil filled times of the 60′s and 70′s (the hippie generation)

The music of that era (mostly played on FM) was totally different from anything before it. Although most of it was FM a lot started to spill over into mainstream Top 40 stations.

Unlike today’s rap the hippie era music had depth and feeling. The young people today have hardly a clue. This is not to say they do not appreciate something that is missing in the mindless lyrics and booming bass of today’s music because when they are exposed to hippie era toons they for the most part really like them. Just go to You Tube and start browsing the titles from that time and look at some of the comments.

So back to the beginning of this post. Most of the videos posted will be from that time era along with some from later years. The other videos that can be found there will be of funny stuff (political and current events) and a lot of them will also have music

So relax, get primed and drift back to a time of the most awesome generation in America, a time where the music was the greatest and you could actually buy a TV and some clothes that were all Made In America.
