The Brass Monkey thinks that if these penalties were strictly enforced on the illegal aliens and there employers the problem would be greatly reduced.

Of course getting the law makers in Washington DC to demand enforcement is very iffy as they are all bought and paid for by big-business.

Penalties for Hiring Illegal Aliens (INA Section 274A) Fines beginning at no less than $250 and up to $10,000 per alien may be assessed for knowingly hiring an illegal alien. The amount of the fee escalates depending on whether there are repeated violations. If there is found to be a pattern or practice of violations, employers may be sentenced to up to six months of imprisonment.

The law for penalizing employers of illegal aliens are on the books now.

Three things are needed to make it work.

1. One: Strict enforcement of that law.
2. Two: Some kind of fool proof documentation that can be easily verified and not be counterfeited or forged.
3. Three: No catch and release at the border. If you get caught crossing illegally you go straight to jail for 6 months and then are released.

Number three would be effective we think because now they would have a criminal record which would make it impossiable to ever be in this country legally again plus you can’t make any bucks sitting in the slammer for 6 months.
