Phishing Scam Targets iTunes/Paypal
Here is how it works. People will get e-mails that look similar to those from official sources urging them to change their user name and password for security reasons. They’ll be redirected to a fake website. This is known as Phishing. Thousands of dollars have been stolen in this latest phishing scam targeting iTunes/Paypal users.
The number one thing to remember here folks is, NO legitimate company will send you an e-mail asking for personal account information. If you get an e-mail asking for your name, Social Security Number, credit and or debit card numbers, passwords, etc., it is always fraud. For more on this scam see it as reported in The Unofficial Apple WebLog
The internet is a modern day version of the wild wild west and computer crime shows no signs of going away, new hacks are cropping up faster then ever, so protect your self and use some common sense.
