Preacher Steve Anderson Wants Obama Dead
A wingnut Baptist minister named Steve Anderson of Tempe AZ prays for Obamas death.
My opinion on this hate talk is simply this, a minister should not be preaching, talking hate and wishing for someone to die of brain cancer. Religion is just not about hate but more about love and forgiveness.

This is the saddest thing I have ever heard. This man should not be allowed to preach. Jesus preached a message of acceptance and forgiveness not one of hatred and death wishes.
This is what gives Christians a bad name.

Being a so called minister who was not called by Jesus Christ,, but one who called himself should be very careful about wishing someone’s death. If this preacher was dressed a little differently and was called an Imam instead of a preacher, he would be called a terrorist!!
What seminary did this block go to? He represents a sadist theology which so many Keen christ followers do not subscribe too. The god he is talking about is the one his geat parents, grand parents and paremts served. There god has always been predjuced, full of hatred and base.

i am a proud christian, but what this man is saying is disgraceful and totally the opposite of what i believe in.

by far this if true is very sad and unfortunate. but i do have to mention that not ALL christians feel this way. not ALL christians are conservative fundamentalists either. there are different types of christians and my faith states that christianaty from the bible is one of love, forgiveness, and acceptance. it is not our right to judge or think what should happen to someone. its JESUS’S and no one else’s. and let me just say and remind that priest about the prostitute who was being stoned and the word the Lord speaks of that moment. and to everyone else let me say.. no one is perfect, not even christians. we are all human, and make mistakes and say or do things that are wrong. let’s leave it up to God to judge us and take care of us.
I don’t think it’s fair for him to talk about Obama like that. I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but insulting others this way is definitely NOT acceptable.
Oh, and, I don’t think it’s fair for Hellerb to touch the subject of Islam that way. I am a proud Muslim and yes, I do agree that issues regarding Islam (the whole Osama thing) may have ruined my religion’s good name internationally, but not all of us are like that. I myself think Osama is wrong to have been bombing innocent people, so there’s that.
If there was one thing I could change about the world, it would be world peace. I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon, especially with THIS going on.

im not a christian, nor do i live in America – but i find this sickening – i would never wish death on another human being & i hope he knows that what goes around, comes around.
No matter how much one may dislike the president, they should NOT be declaring these kind of hopes. Based on racism or not, this is a disgrace to catholics/christians. God thought His children to LOVE & FORGIVE, not to CURSE & HATE!
I believe that Mr. Obama is US’s president for a reason. He is the president because he has what it takes. This pastor, should be thankful for the fact that he is able to preach his religion freely. In other countries, some have to hide their religion! He should NOT be a pastor, because he DOES NOT deserve it. His attitude sucks, his morale is bringing everyone down. Most of them all, his speech is making more people hate us, believers of the Almighty God.

i am an atheist. atheist’s don’t hate believers. how many of us, do you think, have family/friends who are religious? do you think we just start hating them after coming out that we’re atheists? you knew you were going to offend and saying “I don’t want to offend anyone but …” is not a ticket to say what you want!

also, all of you believers saying jesus taught love and acceptance don’t know your bibles very well. there are instances where jesus expresses hate for his enemies. have you all never heard of what imprecatory prayer is? i’m sure that’s what this preacher is using to justify his own hate for President Obama.

Being “Christian” means, literally “to be Christ like”.
This man is no Christian, Christ loved everyone, forgave everyone, died for everyone.
Anyone who would even refer to this man as Christian, has no idea what they’re even talking about, he is Christ like in no way, shape or form.
And as a follower of Christs’ ways I know, Christians truly hurt for a person they believe to be going the wrong way. They would never wish death on a man even as bad as theis “preacher” because they know, after death their soul remains. And they know where a sould such as this mans’ would be going.
And having nothing but love in their heart a Christian would be very sad indeed to know this.
Many may be harsh on this man for calling himself a Christian and causing more people to have a terrible idea of what a Christian is.
But I wish nothing but forgivness on this man, and pray he has time left enough on this earth to find the error of his ways, before it is too late.

If you’re going to look at this whole issue and pick out the ONE THING that could even come close to offending an athiest, and start a fight over it you are very surely missing the point entirey.
This has nothing at all to do with any one religion or lack there of being right.

Richturd, People go to church for religion not for guns or hate. Their is no place in church for this. He soulds like he hates blacks. I myself love all people. If he hates blacks ok but don’nt bring it into the church. He maybe is one of those cults who knows.

No, dear, YOU miss the point. which is to say that this preacher’s praying death on our President is not far at all from what the biblical jesus stood for. He is pulling his “right” to hate Obama and wish death on him right out of the bible.
That doesn’t mean, in this era, that it’s socially acceptable to do so. Most believers skip gloss over the atrocities of the bible …it just so happens that this preacher has not.
In any instance, this preacher is a “true” follower of christ, unlike many of the commenters here would have one believe. You can’t have it any way you want, taking what you think you may need and leaving the rest. This preacher is taking the WHOLE bible and applying it to his life & the lives of his congregation.

I am sorry that is not in the bilbe and I don’t what bible u got that from. have been reading every one’s writing and have nothing to say against anyone who actually critize the bible because someone who called himself a preacher caused it. But one thing I know is that Jesus said it will better on the last day for a man to tie a stone on himself and jump in the ocean than for a man to deceive people. That is what this man is doing, deceiving people and sending them to hell all in the name of preaching the gospel. The gosple as the name goes is about love, mercy, kindness. It is not about hate.
