Rep. Charles Rangel the big shot in congress when it comes to tax writers and a forty year veteran of the Capitol has fessed up and admitted that he is under an ethics panel investigation for accepting corporate cash for Caribbean trips, which is against House rules.

This brings up the question of whether he can or should continue his position as the big honcho on the Ways and Means committee. You might remember that not to long ago (2006) when the Democrats took over rule of the House they made a promise to "end a culture of corruption" that had been prevalent in the twelve years of Republican rule. Yeah right! We all fell for that line didn´t we? WRONG!

In possibly more shady dealings, Rangel, 79, also faces accusations that he failed to disclose thousands in assets, improperly used congressional stationery to solicit donations for an academic center bearing his name at a New York college, and used multiple, rent-controlled apartments in Harlem in violation of city law.

It is a sad state of affairs for these people who we elected are so far into the back pockets of big business and the thugs on K street that it has become the best government money can buy. There is only one way out of this and that is kick all of the incumbents out.

PERIOD!

The only other way is term limits and Congress will never vote that in therefore it is up to the people to give them all the boot. So until this happens the average Joe or Jane might as well bend over because we will continue getting screwed.
