This is super blatant folks even for Illinois politics including Chicago/Cook County politics which have a huge reputation for corruption going back decades. They might have been the first ones to use the famed vote from the grave ploy in elections, not sure though. This brings to mind that Blagojveich chose to run the office of the governor from Chicago instead of Springfield which is the capitol of Illinois. ( Probably the extant of corruption in Springfield was not as bad as it is in Chicago.) Who knows?
As far as any collaboration between the Governor and Obama or anyone on Obama’s team, that remains to be seen. I certainly hope that there was no behind the scenes dealing going on there. If there was, it still would be no surprise giving the well known corruption of Chicago politics.
I am wondering who is learning Bribes & Corruption 101 or is teaching it. Washington or Chicago?
Foot note: Of the last eight Illinois governors, two (Otto Kerner and Dan Walker) spent time in prison, one (George Ryan) is currently in prison and the current governor (Rod Blagojevich) was arrested recently. It’s time to get mad folks and stop electing & re-electing these political hacks locally and nationally.
