Sallie Mae To Bring Outsourced Jobs Home!
Okay you say, but who is Sallie Mae? Sallie Mae is the nation’s leading provider of student loans, helping millions of Americans achieve their dream of a higher education.
Sallie Mae has been around for awhile it was originally created in 1972 as a government-sponsored entity (GSE). The company began privatizing its operations in 1997, a process it completed at the end of 2004 when the company terminated its ties to the federal government.
2000 jobs including jobs in call centers in Mexico will becoming back home. This is fantastic news, and we sincerely hope other companies will follow Sallie Mae’s lead and be able to stand proud with them by bringing much needed jobs back to the U.S.
The Brass Monkey has always thought that outsourcing jobs is very un-patriotic and that companies that outsource are putting greed ahead of what happens to America. We give Sallie Mae a big thumbs up for there decision to bring jobs back to the good ole U.S.A.

Albert Lord in not a hero for bringing jobs home. What he didn’t tell at the press conference was that Sallie Mae is one of six finalists for a very lucrative and, possibly, exclusive contract with the Department of Education. (ED). They really want this contract. Also, with Obama’s current proposal to cut out the middleman and the FFELP to go with the William D. Ford Direct Loan program that is already in place and serviced by ED. This is estimated to save the government over $5 billion in the first year alone and $35 billion over a 5 year period. Please check this out and let your readers know about it. http://www.fbo.gov for the contract, Mike Whisler at ED, email address mike.whisler@ed.gov. He will be the one deciding who gets this. I just started up a blog of my own and don’t have all the information about this up yet, but check it out.
