Ted Stevens Defeated
November 18, 2008

It seems that no matter who you talk to, everyone agrees that congress is bought and payed for by the thugs on K street and big-business. In fact you here the term throw all the bums out quite often.
With this being the case how come we keep electing them over and over again?
Lets come to grips with this folks, the only way we can change our government is by congress passing a law that puts term limits in place for them (like the president) which might happen if hell freezes over or we actually do throw the bums out.
Take the case of Senator Ted Stevens (R) Alaska. He is the longest serving Republican in the Senate. He is now a convicted felon and the voters of Alaska came damn close to re-electing him in the just passed elections. In fact it was so close that it was not until today that it was known that he was defeated.
C’mon folks it seems very clear that the only time our elected officials cater to us is when it is time for re-election, the rest of the time they are busy passing free trade deals so our corporations can fire American workers in favor of cheapo sweat shop labor over seas someplace. Just how long will it take for the house of cards to collapse? Sooner or later it has to, you can not sustain our economy very long by substituting good paying jobs for Wal-Mart wages.
So far the current recession we are in has been blamed on a number of causes and never once have I heard that just maybe, mind you just maybe all of the outsourcing might have something to do with it also.
Bye Bye Ted. Do not fret to much as you can now kick back in that great house you had built in Girdwood. You know the place right? The one that you had no idea that some of your associates spent big bucks on to expand and fix up.
