Is President Obama lying when he asserts that illegal immigrants will not be covered by HR 3200? Well no, not in the strictest sense of the word. it does state in black and white on p.143, Sec, 246 of HR 3200 that nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

However, only the most feeble-minded individuals can fail to read between the lines and conclude that uninsured illegal immigrants will continue to be treated in our nation’s emergency rooms and then released, only to return again and again. Even the president has acknowledged this, calling it our humanitarian duty.

Thus the president and Martin Heinrich, Tom Udall and Jeff Bingaman do indeed lie if only by omission. Illegal immigrants will continue to exist as a permanent underclass that “eat[s] out [this nation's] substance,” as Thomas Jefferson might have put it.

It is indeed our humanitarian duty to treat and stabilize even illegal immigrants in our e-rooms. However, it is not our responsibility to continue to subsidize them as a permanent slave labor force for business interests. They should be treated, stabilized and sent back to there country of origin. House Democrats have insured that there is no mechanism for this to occur.

Come on President Obama. Tell us the whole truth.
