Back in ’08 Bill Gates made another pitch towards getting more H1B workers in the country, telling Washington that, “America will lose its status as a leader in technological innovation unless it allows more skilled workers to enter the country”.

The Facts are that these workers are taking jobs from American workers. Not good especially with the unemployment numbers in the millions. The Brass Monkey Blog thinks that the salaries paid to these foreign workers would be better spent by getting our schools acts together, by drastically lowering the drop out rate and putting a big emphasises on Math and Science and then hire the AMERICAN students who took advantage of these beefed up schools and courses.

The bottom line on folks like Gates that say we will use our technology edge if we do not hire all foreigners is pure BS. What that translates to is corporations can get these foreigners cheap and screw Americans! Take note Mr. Gates, the public said no to Vista and they also say no to your hiring practices.

The sad truth is that even now with our economy in shambles and millions of folks out of work and losing there homes people like Gates and other corporate big wigs want even more foreign workers then what the government allows. These folks and the government should be held accountable.

An interesting side bar to this is back when Microsoft switched there help lines to India or some such place folks were complaining that they could not understand the help operators. One suggested that why not hire Americans right here at home to do it like they used to. Gates’s reply was something like spend the money on teaching these folks overseas better English!

Shame on you Bill and shame on all your cronies who head other corporations who did the same thing and are still doing it.
